Hi, my name is Tanya and I am a light drawer.

The word photography is from the Greek word photos ("light") and graphe ("drawing"). This is a concept that I meditate on before every shoot because my ultimate goal is to capture your light. Finding the light that naturally glows within you allows your portraits to reflect who you are through the eyes of another person. If you are looking for a photographer for a special occasion or you need a little self love poured into your life, I am your girl.

A lot of people also ask, "What does Merle Noir mean?" It is french for "Blackbird" and the blackbird symbolizes wisdom and beauty. Blackbirds also represent black and white phases of the moon which is known to affect our emotions. A photograph is capturing your emotion and your spirit as a whole. The bird is also a symbol of life in the heavens and reflect a higher path of knowing. All of these elements are the foundation for my studio and this is why I chose Merle Noir Studios.
